- 4 months ago Overall: 3 - I never ever thought that I would be writing a review about celebrating the good work of a dental practise!! When I was a child I had a terrible experience during a visit to the dentist and this was the starting point of of my fear. I left it over 15 years before plucking up the courage to attend a dentist. Unfortunetly the dental practices I choose did not cater for anxious patients, they said they did but really they lacked the experience and professionalism that I experienced from John Booth and all the staff at the Craigentinny Dental Practise. I built up communication with John via the website and his calm and supportive nature helped me over come my initial fear and was I able to make an appointment. I can say that I am delighted with my progress, initially I had to have my husband take me as I was so upset, now I can attend myself and the sleepness nights before my first few appoinments have all gone!!! John and Gill are exceptional people and I am grateful for their help ...
- 4 months ago Overall: 3 - I have had a real fear of dentists since I went to the school dentist in the 60's, as an adult I would only go if the pain had become unbearable and it outweighed the fear. Eventually I was sent to Duncan street in Edinburgh, which is for disabled and nervous patients. After many years they discharged me and my husband persuaded me to go to his dentist Fraser at Craigentinny Dental Practice, who was to him the best dentist ever. I cannot say how happy I was changing over, he had patience with me as if I was a child but without making me feel stupid or embarrassed. Eventually I got to the stage of going every 6 months on my own, I always took someone with me before. I plucked the courage up also to do something I would have loved to have done when I was young, straighten my teeth, I got veneers which I had to sit for a couple of hours in a dentist chair, never ever did I think I would ever have done this. More recently I even agreed to root treatment and was still calm. It is now ...
- 4 months ago Overall: 3 - After many years of not visiting a dentist I got in touch with Craigentinny Dental Pratice, I decided to do this after reading their website and some online recommendations from patients. I initially spoke to Fraser over email and the nature of his replies convinced me to go through with making an appointment. The day of my first appointment was like most fears in life, the thought of it was more terrifying than the actual experience. I found Fraser to be just as id hoped, very calming and non-judgemental to the condition of my teeth. I've returned to the practice several times since and completed the main treatment at the end of 2011. Each and every time I found Fraser to be as excellent as the first visit, especially when talking through procedure's that have a certain fear attached to them, such as root treatment. I can't recommend or thank the people at the pratice enough. I never believed I'd feel comfortable with the condition of my teeth.
- 6 months ago Overall: 3 - It took me a long time to pluck up the courage to get my crooked teeth straightened. Having made the decision I'm glad I went to Craigentinny Dental Care as everything was explained thoroughly and I was given treatment and options that suited my circumstances. I had a full brace in white which was much less visible that I expected; even my kids didn't notice unitl I pointed it out to them and the treatment lasted little over 6 months. Delighted with my new smile!
- 7 months ago Overall: 3 - I had my Inman Aligner done recently at Craigentinny Dental Care. David Kilroy was/is my dentist. He is excellent and the result beautiful! No space between my teeth which are less prominent now. Excellent Dental Care, I would highly recommend Craigentinny Dental Practicy, any treatment there including Inman Aligner and of course excellent Dr. David Kilroy!
